Phase 1: Zenara
Zenara is a floating Dragon/Neutral boss. She is stationary (hovering above the platform) and uses mostly ranged attacks.
Key Attacks
- Genesis Beam: A massive beam attack that sweeps across the arena. It takes 3 seconds to charge — you can see the energy building at Zenara’s core. Hide behind one of the stone pillars on the platform.
- Starfall: Zenara spawns homing projectiles that track your position for 5 seconds. Sprint in a wide circle to outrun them; they explode on contact with the ground.
- Divine Shield: Zenara becomes invulnerable for 10 seconds and spawns 3 healing orbs. Destroy the orbs before they reach Zenara (each orb heals 5% HP). Use AoE attacks to clear them quickly.
Strategy
- Use the pillars. The arena has four stone pillars arranged in a square. Keep one between you and Zenara at all times — they block Genesis Beam.
- Ice Pals are your best bet. Deploy Frostallion or Panthalus immediately. Their Ice skills deal 2x damage.
- Prioritize healing orbs. When Divine Shield is active, stop DPSing Zenara and focus 100% on destroying the orbs. Letting even one orb heal Zenara prolongs the fight.
- Don’t stand still. Starfall will kill you if you stop moving. Circle the arena constantly.
Phase 2: Astralym
When Zenara reaches 0 HP, she transforms into Astralym — a Dark/Dragon form that fights on the ground. The pillars are destroyed in the transition, leaving an open arena.
Key Attacks
- Shadow Blast: Astralym fires a concentrated dark energy beam. Very fast, medium damage per hit but hits multiple times. Strafe to avoid.
- Void Pools: Dark pools spawn under your feet (similar to the original Tower Boss void mechanic). They persist for 30 seconds and deal heavy damage. Keep moving to avoid stacking them in one place.
- Dragon’s Tail: Astralym sweeps its tail in a 180-degree arc. Telegraphed by a rear-back animation. Jump to avoid.
- Wing Slam: Astralym leaps up and slams down, creating a shockwave. Roll or sprint through the shockwave timing.
Strategy
- Switch to Dragon Pals. Jetragon or Aetherwing deal effective damage here. Ice is no longer strong (Astralym resists it).
- Keep moving at all times. Void Pools force constant repositioning. Map out a clockwise path around the arena and stick to it.
- Rocket Launcher during downtime. Between attack patterns, Astralym has 10-second openings. Use Rocket Launcher + Assault Rifle combo.
- Watch for the tell before Wing Slam. The leap animation gives you about 1.5 seconds to get clear.
Phase 3: Awakened Astralym (50% HP)
At 50% HP, Astralym stops, roars, and transforms. It regenerates to 100% HP (adding 100,000 more to burn through), gains a dark aura, and all attacks deal increased damage. The arena gains a permanent shadow effect that reduces visibility.
New/Enhanced Attacks
- Oblivion Beam: Enhanced version of Shadow Blast — wider, longer duration, and tracks your movement slightly. You must double-dodge (sprint + roll) to avoid it.
- Shadow Clones: Astralym spawns 2 shadow clones that mimic its attacks for 20 seconds. The clones have 10% of Astralym’s HP but deal full damage. Kill them quickly — AoE attacks work best.
- Void Storm: Room-wide AoE that pulses every 5 seconds. Deals moderate damage and applies a stacking DEF debuff. Use healing items between pulses.
- Dark Enrage (20% HP): All attack speeds double. Clones spawn faster. Void Storm pulses every 3 seconds.
Strategy (Phase 3)
- Cycle your Pal roster. Pals will faint regularly in this phase. Have all 6 ready and rotate them out before they take fatal damage.
- Kill clones immediately. Two clones + Astralym = three sources of damage. That’s not survivable for long. AoE attacks and Rocket Launcher are your best tools here.
- Stack healing food. Mushroom Chowder or Pizza should be active 100% of this phase. Use manual healing between Void Storm pulses.
- Save burst for the last 20%. When Dark Enrage triggers, pop all remaining buffs and Rocket Launcher everything you have. This is the most dangerous part of the fight — don’t hold back.
- In multiplayer: Assign roles. One player handles clone clear, one handles sustained DPS on Astralym, one manages healing and revival.

FAQ
Is this the last boss of Palworld?
Yes. As of version 1.0, Zenara and Astralym are the final encounter. Defeating them triggers the end credits and unlocks the post-game completion state.
Can I fight them again?
Yes. The World Tree Summit boss arena resets weekly. You can challenge them again each week for additional drops (especially Legendary Schematics).
Do I need to bring all 6 Pals?
Highly recommended. Phase 3 in particular will likely deplete 4-5 of your Pals. Going in with fewer than 6 is a significant handicap.
What happens after I beat them?
You unlock the Celestial mutation (best-in-slot Pal), World Tree fast-travel, and the endgame crafting tier. You also get a Steam achievement if you’re playing on Steam.
