The Oil Rig is a new high-level farming location in Palworld 1.0. Floating offshore from the southeast coast, it’s packed with level 45-50 Syndicate enemies, rare loot chests, and the only source of Crude Oil outside of base extractors. Location and Unlock Requirements
The Oil Rig is located at coordinates (1120, -350), southeast of the main continent. It’s visible from the coast as a large industrial platform. There are no unlock quests — you can fly there as soon as you have a mount with enough stamina.

The Rig Layout
The Oil Rig has three main levels:
Top Deck (Entry Point)
- Enemies: 4-6 Syndicate Gunners (Lv.45)
- Loot: 1-2 standard chests with Ammo, Pal Spheres, low-tier materials
- Strategy: Clear the top deck immediately after landing. Use your mount’s combat skills to clear clustered enemies.
Middle Deck (Main Combat Zone)
- Enemies: 8-10 Syndicate Elites (Lv.48-50), 2-3 Turret emplacements
- Loot: 2-3 blue chests with Oil, Circuit Boards, Polymer, Refined Ingots
- Key feature: The Oil Pump room — you can loot 10-15 Crude Oil directly from the pump machinery
- Strategy: Clear turrets first (they have the highest DPS), then handle the Elites. Turrets are weak to Electric damage.
Lower Deck (Boss Area)
- Enemies: 1 mini-boss (Lv.50 “Rig Foreman” — Human w/ Rocket Launcher), 4-6 additional Elites
- Loot: 1 gold chest (endgame schematics), 2 blue chests, Oil drums (15-20 Crude Oil)
- Strategy: The Foreman has a Rocket Launcher that one-shots if you’re not at full HP. Use the catwalks for cover.
Step-by-Step Clear Route
- Land on the helipad (top deck, east side). Kill the 2-3 enemies here immediately.
- Clear the top deck perimeter. Circle the edge, killing gunners. Don’t rush down the stairs yet.
- Drop to middle deck via the central ladder. Immediately locate and destroy turret emplacements — there are two on the middle deck and one covering the stairway to the lower deck.
- Loot the Oil Pump room (south side of middle deck). Each visit yields 10-15 Crude Oil from the main pump.
- Clear remaining middle deck enemies using the catwalks for cover. The Elites are aggressive but don’t coordinate well.
- Descend to lower deck. Use the east stairwell — it has the best cover.
- Aggro the Foreman from range. He’ll fire rockets; bait them into pillars, then push with Shotgun when he reloads.
- Loot the gold chest (southwest corner of lower deck).

Farming Tips
- Bring a flying mount with high HP. The rig has no respawn point; if you die, you respawn on the mainland and must fly back.
- Clear the rig at night. Enemy patrol patterns are slightly slower at night, giving you more reaction time.
- The rig resets every 2 in-game days. You can farm it repeatedly.
- Set up a base on the nearby shore (around 1050, -400) as a respawn hub. A basic Palbox + bed will save you the long flight from your main base.
- Don’t bring valuable Pals you can’t afford to lose. Pals can faint on the rig; bring your combat roster, not your breeders.

Can I build on the Oil Rig?
No. The rig is a POI (Point of Interest) and building is disabled.
Is there a fast-travel point on the rig?
No. You must fly each time. This is why the nearby shore base is recommended.
What’s Crude Oil used for?
Crude Oil is refined into Plasteel and used for endgame weapons, armor, and base upgrades. You can also extract it passively with Oil Extractors at your base, but the rig provides an early source before you unlock extractors.
Can I bring friends?
Yes. The rig scales with player count (more enemies, better loot). A duo can clear it faster than solo if you split top/middle deck responsibilities.
