Ancient Technology Points are a spend-order problem. Earn them from the activities you already do, then unlock travel and quality-of-life before vanity crafts.
What Ancient Technology Points are for
They unlock the separate Ancient Technology track (advanced spheres, key utility, late systems). Regular Technology Points still matter for day-to-day crafting—but Ancient unlocks are the ones you cannot afford to mis-spend early.
Main ways to earn Ancient Technology Points
| Source | When it shows up | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tower boss clears | Throughout the campaign | Highest “story” income; follow a sensible Tower order |
| Lifmunk / world effigies | Exploration | Pick them up while farming routes—do not make empty tourism trips forever |
| 1.0 exploration collectibles (for example Yakumo-style effigies where present) | New regions | Check your patch’s collectible tracker; treat them as route bonuses |
| Major progression clears | Mid/late game | Island/Tower/endgame milestones often grant chunk rewards |
Exact point values can change with patches—use the reward popup as truth. The farming philosophy does not: clear Towers on curve, vacuum effigies along real routes.
Fastest early plan
- Build a working base (food + spheres) so Tower attempts are not a poverty run.
- Clear the first Tower as soon as your party is ready.
- On every ore/quartz loop, detour for nearby effigies you already spotted.
- Spend points on catch/power tech before base cosmetics.
What to unlock first (spend priority)
| Priority | Unlock type | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sphere / catching power | Raises your entire Pal economy |
| 2 | Key utility that removes friction | Travel, production, or inventory bottlenecks |
| 3 | Combat power spikes | Only after catching economy is healthy |
| 4 | Luxury / cosmetic Ancient unlocks | After the account can print progress alone |
Mistakes that waste your points
- Unlocking vanity before sphere tiers.
- Ignoring Towers for hours of random exploration with no combat prep.
- Saving points forever “for later” while your catch rate stays terrible.
- Running effigy tourism with an empty food bag and no mount.
